Taste of Cape Town
Taste of Cape Town 2010 was upon us again.
After months of planning and deliberation, the look and feel of the San Pellegrino and
Acqua Panna stand for Taste 2011 was finally confirmed. Our aim was for the public to
experience an Authentic Italian garden whilst enjoying the fantastic water.
The stand posed many challenges for us. The exhibition, starting in Cape Town would
need to travel on to Durban and then onto Johannesburg. Whatever we used needed to be
durable, easy to move but mostly be able to hold its own for the 5 day period of each
show.
The stand needed to incorporate ample shrubbery, a variety of herbs, fresh lemons and
running water, hopefully relaying a refreshing, calm and nostalgic feeling.
Admittedly this stand was one of the most enjoyable for the Conceptspark team to put
together. The team scoured the city for authentic gardening equipment and whatever other
ramshackle garden items we could lay our hands on.
Decisions also had to be made as to whether or not to use much debated replica greenery
or to completely deck out the stand with fresh produce. We finally opted for a combination
of both, all ended up being very happy with the result.
The bar, supplied by Thirst bar services was finished in a vinyl depicting the identical
washed grey wood finish of the tables. The majority of the pots along with the water
feature fountain were cast in a lightweight fibre glass and completed with a distressed
weathered effect.
All the components were wrapped and shipped to beautiful Cape Town with the enthused
Conceptspark team not far behind. Good planning and hard work from all involved meant
that the stand went up in good time and without any hitches.
The finished look was well received and enjoyed by all who visited the show. We are now
looking forward to setting up in September for Taste of Johannesburg, admittedly we will
be making a few changes and additions to enhance the whole look and experience further.
Be sure to visit us in September here in Johannesburg.
Shimansky
Shimansky Product media launch
Shimansky the upmarket jewelry store in Sandton had two consecutive media launches
lined up in May.
First was the introduction of their “My Girl” fragrance. The color scheme: pale pink, black
white and silver.
Carefully taking into consideration the design of the store and the look and feel of the
perfume bottle we started to work on a classical, young but romantic look for the function.
It was a small gathering of top media so the details of this function were extremely
important. Ornate candelabras were swathed in soft lush pink roses and pinstriped
ribbons. These were subtle but strategically place about the room. Toasted rounds served
with duck mousse and sherry grilled pears amongst other edible delights, were elegantly
served on antique silver trays.
After the fragrance reveal it was time to celebrate. Sparkling wine was on offer along with
refreshing rose water all beautifully adorned with soft pink rose petals. All media were
handed gifts and while they nibbled on pastel pink macaroons and rose flavored Turkish
delight. It was a pretty and softly romantic evening for all. A perfect example of how less
can be more and a learning curve for us in realizing that if we are to move forward in the
current financial climate, every detail we present to the client needs to make an impact
toward their goal.
The following morning Shimansky launched their Enigma range of Jewelry. The color
spectrum: turquoise, silver and white with accent of pearl.
The new Jewelry range was vibrant and colorful so we were aware not to detract from the
look with any of our display and decor. Our choice of florals, large white avalanche roses,
chinks and white lizianthers were bunched and arranged separately in softly shaped
pewter vases for best effect.
The finishing touches of the turquoise ribbon bows and strings of pearls on the stark white
linen pulled the entire look together perfectly. Ornate large silver platters displayed an
array of breakfast treats, these being fresh strawberry fig skewers and brie and red onion
tartlets.
A delightful morning and a perfect way to start the day.
